High School Broadway Intensives

Student Packing Checklist

Please make sure to thoroughly read the link above for your Intensive. But as a reminder, make sure to bring:

• Vocal binder with minimum of three contrasting 32-bar cuts. One of the three should be a pop/rock song. This is a song that was not originally written for a Broadway show. It may have been used in one later in a jukebox musical but was written first outside of theater.

• 10 copies of your headshot and resume stapled back-to-back. Industry standard is 8x10. Check out our resume formatting guide: https://www.openjarinstitute.com/resume-guide

• You will be treated as a professional during your week with us. Treat yourself this way. Do not show up with your music or resume not printed.

• Refillable water bottle.

• Any dance shoes you have (jazz, character, tap, etc). None are required. All dances can be done in sneakers.

• Comfortable walking shoes. We walk everywhere!

• Outfits for Broadway shows and mock vocal audition. Whatever this means to you, there is no ‘standard’ or requirement.

• Money for meals on your travel days and for anything else you want to buy that is not included: show souvenirs, late-night ice cream, Starbucks, etc.
