A new class is hitting Broadway, and it's aimed at helping aspiring producers perfect their pitch to investors, co-producers, and theater owners. This is a one-of-a-kind course that will provide valuable insights and techniques for crafting a pitch that is sure to impress.The event will focus on pitching to a variety of target audiences, crafting concise pitches (known as an elevator pitch), creating effective decks, and delivering with confidence.  

The panel discussion will be led by a seasoned theatrical executive producer/general manager Sharon Fallon. Attendees will learn how to anticipate and address tough questions and concerns, as well as how to follow-up and close deals. Panel members include Broadway producers Rashad V. Chambers, Anant Das and Amanda Dubois.

"The art of pitching can be daunting,” says class instructor Sharon Fallon. “Learning how to craft a successful pitch is necessary for any new theatrical work, no matter if the goal is to succeed in the commercial landscape or in the world of not for profits. This class is designed to provide aspiring producers with the tools and knowledge they need to craft a pitch that engages investors, co-producers, and theater owners, and ultimately leads to a successful Broadway production."

Bios:

SHARON FALLON, Sharon Fallon Productions, Inc. is an independent Theatre Producer, General Manager, and Theatrical Consultant. Celebrating 20-plus years in the entertainment industry, working both in the commercial and non-profit theatre industry, Sharon brings a unique perspective to her work. In 2015 she created a boutique theatrical production/general management company with a mission to bridge the gap between art and business allowing productions to be financially viable and artistically satisfying. Taking a holistic approach – from page to stage and everything in between, she works directly with early-career producers and artist-driven niche projects (showcases, readings, early development workshops, etc.) as well as on larger union and non-union projects.She has worked in the theatre as an actress, director, general manager, managing director, and producer. Broadway credits include Indecent, Beautiful the Carole King Musical, Matilda The Musical, and Lysistrata Jones. In addition to producing commercially, Sharon served as the Associate General Manager of both the Helen Hayes Theatre and Lyric Theatre in New York. Currently, she is the executive producer on several projects in development. Sharon is a Board Member-elect of NAMT, the National Association of Musical Theatres, co-chair of the Festival of New Musicals Committee, and a dedicated and lifelong supporter of social justice, cultural equity, diversity, and inclusion.

RASHAD V. CHAMBERS is a Tony Award winning producer, talent manager and lawyer.  Rashad recently produced the New York premiere of the award winning musical Little Girl Blue: The Nina Simone Musical.  His Broadway producing credits include American Son, Ain’t Too Proud, Betrayal, The Inheritance, Caroline, or Change, The Music Man, Topdog/Underdog and Fat Ham. Rashad attended Morehouse College where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He also earned his JD and MBA degrees from The Ohio State University.

ANANT DAS (“un-nunth”) (He/Him) is a theatre and film creative producer and CEO of Broadway Boxed Up, the longest-running theatre-themed subscription box with a focus on elevating BIPOC, Deaf, and disabled theatrical voices, connecting fans with the Broadway world, and reimagining theatregoers’ relationship with merchandise. He is a Co-Executive Producer of “Summoning the Spirit '' which made its film premiere at the Miami Film Festival in March 2023. He is a co-producer of New York, New York, A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical and The Piano Lesson on Broadway, Associate Producer of Windfall Off-West End, as well as Kinky Boots Off-Broadway. In addition, Anant has experience as an investor with A Strange Loop, Fairycakes, the Museum of Broadway, and the Broadway Makers Marketplace (the first Broadway Pop-Up Shop for fans, by fans). He is a 2022 member of both the TEDxBroadway Young Professionals cohort and Theatre Producers of Color and serves as a Board Member of the New York Theatre Workshop’s 4th Street Bar Association.

AMANDA DUBOIS Amanda Dubois has been an independent commercial theater producer since 2004, a member of the Broadway League since 2005, and serves on the Advisory Council of the American Theatre Wing. Credits include Broadway: Lehman Trilogy (Tony Award Best Play), Grace,Spring Awakening (Tony Award Best Musical, Drama Desk Award), ‘night Mother. Off-Broadway: Small Mouth Sounds, Shotspeare, Traces. National Tour: Small Mouth Sounds, Shotspeare, Traces, Spring Awakening.
